The beach at Carkeek Park, Elliott Bay, on one of Seattle’s few sunny winter days.  Kat and Ava stood and threw stones in the water, then searched unrelentingly for crabs and other sea urchins foreign to our desert lifestyle.  I just amazed at the movement of water and the sparkle of sunshine and the cool air and the blue and gray of it all.  It felt like home in a wonderfully soothing way and the gentle lapping of waves captured that feeling for me.
