The daisies are at the end of their blooming season, which has a tendency to make people in Michigan a little melancholy.  It signals the turning of the page, so to speak; the rounding out of a season they waited a long time to arrive.  I used to have a garden full of shasta daisies.  When it was time to dead head them, I always felt a little sad.  Not because it meant the cooler weather was coming, but because I knew I’d miss their gracefully swaying heads, their sunny dispositions, and their simple beauty.   Until next summer.
