Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices instead of colors, there would be an unbelievable shrieking into the heart of the night.  ~ Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters of Rainer Maria Rilke

    • Thanks, Marci. It’s actually a flowering tree next to our house. I’m sure it’s not native to the Sonoran desert, but seems to thrive. These little yellow puff balls pop each spring. I sneeze between shots. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by, and the comment. Have a great weekend.

  7. How pretty! Strange that they are called TEXAS acacia and I don’t think I’ve ever seen them here in TX 😉

    • We have a lot of things like that. Do you have Texas Mountain Laurel? It’s a flowering tree (sort of), and the flowers smell really strongly of grape Kool-Aid. Really amazing scent, but I think it’s poisonous. Then again, we have things from all over that wouldn’t grow natively in the desert. Hence, 9 months of allergy season. 🙂

  14. Ok. I’ve lived in TX for a few years and never saw anything come close to this flower on your photo. Your image is so pleasing to the eyes. Composition, DoF, & post-processing are right on the money. Outstanding job!
