Well if you ever plan to motor west
Just take my way that’s the highway that’s the best
Get your kicks on Route 66.

Well it winds from Chicago to L.A.
More than 2000 miles all the way
Get your kicks on Route 66

Well, goes from St. Louie down to Missouri
Oklahoma city looks oh so pretty
You’ll see Amarillo and Gallup, New Mexico
Flagstaff, Arizona don’t forget Winona
Kingman, Barstow, San Bernardino

Would you get hip to this kindly tip
And go take that California trip
Get your kicks on Route 66!

  1. I love that song. (-:

    • We couldn’t help sing it as we drove on and along side old Route 66. A sad victim of progress and the interstate, for sure, but beautiful for photographers. Thanks for stopping and for the comment! ~ Lisa

      • No problem. I was raised with old cars, so I happen to love Route 66.

  2. Very, very fun!!!!

    • Hi Janet – we’ve been gone to Michigan for most of the summer and I haven’t had access to my PC. I took this on our drive out from Arizona. Route 66 is such an icon, but it’s in bad, bad shape. Desolation everywhere. Amazing to capture with the camera, though. Good to hear from you. Hope you are well. Now I need to catch up on looking at pics!! ~ Lisa

      • Glad that it’s been a good summer, and hopefully cooler in Michigan than in Arizona. I’m looking forward to more pics from your summer travels.
