I lost my mom three years ago November 29.  To this day, my heart breaks.  But to this day, my heart has joy for her in her peace.  Never mind what I would have wanted.  She received God’s grace in a very sudden, but very painless death.  I will miss her always and I will always cherish the years I was blessed to have her as my own.  I love you, Mom!

In the spring of 1988, I returned to New Orleans, and as soon as I smelled the air, I knew I was home.  It was rich, almost sweet, like the scent of jasmine and roses around our old courtyard.  I walked the streets, savoring that long lost perfume. ~ Anne Rice, Interview with the Vampire

I leave Monday for a quick trip to Northern Michigan. I know there won’t be any flowers, but these hydrangeas from my mom’s backyard always made me think of home. So excited to be heading north!!
